Common Questions

What does “Unlimited Tryouts” mean?

Think of a Tryout as representing 1 open position you want to hire for, i.e. 1 Tryout = 1 Job.  Unlimited Tryouts means that each hiring manager can create as many Tryouts as he/she has jobs to fill. So if a hiring manager needed to fill 3 jobs, that would be 3 Tryouts; 5 Jobs to fill would equal 5 Tryouts, and so on.

What does “1 hiring manager” refer to?

Each account on Varsidee is designed for 1 hiring manager. The hiring manager has the power to create and post a Tryout, as well as to respond and take action on candidate submissions. A hiring manager may invite other members of the hiring team to the account, and these users can review candidate submissions and comment privately. But they can’t respond to a candidate directly or take actions on a candidate's submission. Only the hiring manager can do that.

What happens if I need more than 1 hiring manager on my account?

In this case, you would need to sign up for another account.

Do you offer volume discounts for multiple hiring managers within a company?

What happens if my trial ends while I have a Tryout that is published and receiving submissions?

As you get close to the end of your trial, we’ll send you several reminder emails so you can pick a plan and sign up.  If you choose not to sign up, that’s ok too.  We’ll post a message on your Tryout indicating that it is no longer available so candidates will know not to complete it.  Any candidates who have already uploaded submissions will also be notified by email that the Tryout has ended.

Can I sign up for less than 3 months?

Yes. Each account comes with a 30-day free trial. The software is fully functional during this time so you can create as many Tryouts and hire as many people as you like within that time. After 30 days, you’ll be asked to sign up for one of our plans.
